The article examines the moral imperatives of traditional lyric-epic works, the peculiarities of the presentation of imperatives, the dialectics of meanings. The author emphasizes that traditional lyrical-epic poetry, having absorbed thousands of years of spiritual and practical experience of the people, multifacetedly presented the worldview of the Ukrainian ethnic group, the axiological dimension of the dilemma between man and socio-cultural space, concepts of ethical and aesthetic ideals, ethno-confessional and communicative imperatives. Lyro-epic folklore with the entire semiotic and conceptual system appears as a significant structural component of the entire artistic culture of the ethnic group. Folklore works reflected various factors of human life: labor, social, psychological, ideological, as well as the evolution of ethical parameters, sensory perception of reality. One of the important levels of the anthropological model of lyric-epic folklore is the existentialimperative level. The analysis of folklore texts makes it possible to outline the system of main imperatives, which becomes an important component of the structuring of the anthropological model of oral traditional non-ritual poetry. Among the important imperatives, it stands out first of all as an instruction to everyone: value life as the greatest and indisputable gift. One of the important imperatives of lyric-epic folklore is the imperative of justice, which is pragmatically outlined in terms of modeling existence. In ballads with motifs of unhappy married life, through the display of antinomies, it is suggested to participate in the structuring of another, just human reality. On the example of the analyzed folklore texts, it can be found that the concepts of "freedom", "justice", "happiness" are correlated in the process of structuring the system of values, which are objectified in personal and social aspects. The formed axiological circle directs human actions in the appropriate vector, distinguishing the content of moral imperatives that are transmitted from person to person, from present to future communities.
