“POET” SUBJECT AND IMAGE CONCEPTOSPHERE IN THE POETOLOGICAL DISCOURSE OF UKRAINIAN POETRY IN ХІХ–ХХ CENTURIES

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze and systematize the poetological perceptions of an artist regarding the “poet” subject and image conceptosphere, the evolution of its genre and thematic modification over the key stages of the historical development of literature. As its theoretical and methodological background, the article uses historico-literary, cultural and historical, comparative, as well as general scientific methods of philological analysis (systematization, generalization, synthesis etc.). The object of research is the poetical works of Ukrainian artists whose creative work most vividly and consistently demonstrate thematic connection with poetological artistic subject matter, in particular, the works of ХІХ–ХХ century poets. The subject of research is the specific features of artistic and poetical realization of the “poet” subject and image conceptosphere exposed through the lens of the conceptual and thematic and genre and stylistic strategies employed by Ukrainian poets of ХІХ–ХХ centuries, theoretical principles of artistic organization of poetological lyrical discourse, the specific techniques of its poetic matter. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the research’s systematization of the assembly of basic semantic models of displaying poetologic ideas of Ukrainian artists of the ХІХ–ХХ centuries pertaining to the “poet” subject and image conceptosphere. The conducted research helped establish that: 1. The basic elements of the subject and image conceptosphere of an artist’s artistics ideas of poetologic discourse are the ideas of a poet, poetry writing, literary and technical means of verbal expression. 2. An essential part of reinterpretation of the image and subject of the plain “poet” in the creative activity of Ukrainian poets of ХІХ–ХХ centuries is occupied by mythological images of the subject of poetry writing. 3. An equally important and substantial part of the Ukrainian poetological lyrics of ХІХ–ХХ centuries is also played by the literary and historic reinterpretation of the poet’s image.
