While developing the provisions of the publishing policy of the professional scientific journal “Problems of humanities: a collection of scientific works of Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University. Series “Philology”, the editorial staff relied on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), an experience of Ukrainian and foreign academic associations, organizations and editorial bodies of scientific publications, and adhered to the Code of Ethics for a Scientist in Ukraine. Society should be confident about scientists’ integrity and the validity of their findings. Unfortunately, many countries have faced major violations of ethics that has eroded the credibility of science and public confidence in scientists. In order to prevent that sort of situation in Ukraine, all scientists have to grasp the importance of high ethical conduct and their responsibility for forming a public opinion on science.
