CODIFICATION OF STYLISTIC FORMS OF TRADITIONAL TEXT (ON THE MATERIAL OF ZHAOMIN’S (眧 明) ANTOLOGY “SELECTED WORKS OF ZHAO MING” (“昭明 文选”)

Abstract

The study is devoted to the process of stylistic codification and formation of stylistic norms on the material of one of the main works in this field of philology (“Selected works of Zhao ming”) (“昭明 文选”) by Zhao Ming (眧 明). The following aspects are methodologically important in the article: the basis for the formation of a system of authentic stylistic means in the Wenyan language are text forms that combine all linguistic and extralingual factors in the processes of stylistic codification. The forms of the text were formed and codified, under the influence of social factors, absorbed the worldview of the Chinese people, the choice of stylistic means depended on the form of the text. The author of the article points out the importance of the idea of succession for the development of Chinese philological tradition, as well as the established system of texts, which in a certain historical period influenced the dynamics of Chinese philological tradition and introduced new forms of texts in the process of stylistic codification. Processes of stylistic codification on the example of “Selected works of Zhao Ming” (“昭明 文 选”) involves consideration of the main manifestations and criteria for selection of material in the process of stylistic codification. The historical-comparative format of the research proposed in the article allows to detail the already existing results of codification, known through consideration of previous philological works, as well as to trace the consolidation of stylistic principles fixed in Zhao Ming’s Selected Works as a further stylistic codification of wenyan. A comprehensive approach to the analysis of codification processes in the stylistics of the Wenyan language allows us to trace the further development of stylistic phenomena, the introduction of language norms. which was based on traditional forms of test. It is proved that the forms of the text recorded in “Selected Works of Zhao Ming” continue the formation of stylistics as a separate branch of philological science of ancient China, and also influenced the choice of material for codification in subsequent works on stylistics, which in turn influenced the formation stylistic principles of modern Chinese. The tradition of selection of language material was formed, first of all, based on fixed forms of texts, and stylistic norms were established depending on codified text forms.
