LANGUAGE FEATURES OF INTERNET COMMUNICATION DURING A PANDEMIC

The peculiarities of language communication within the Internet community have been considered. Attention is paid to the structure, functions and language features of this community. The connection of the Internet community with the phenomenon of linguistic manipulation, as well as its classification and general principles of research has been revealed. The social virtual platform, online community Reddit, was chosen as a basis for the study. The manipulative nature, contradictory features of the section with comments on the pandemic situation were detected, as well as a detailed textual analysis of the linguistic features of communication within the specified Internet community has been conducted. Attention is paid to various topics of this social network. Posts with comments on various topics related to the global pandemic have been selected for the analysis. The main posts that highlight the causal links of Coronavirus in the Reddit online community have been selected. They were linguistically marked both implicitly and explicitly for further linguistic textual analysis, which was performed both by interpretation and by software. The program “Linguistic research and word counting”, has confirmed the results obtained by interpretation. The software application has provided a statistical basis for sound linguistic comments on the linguistic and interpretive analysis of the pandemic comment section in the Reddit online community. The notion of conflict situation and conflict resolution strategies was used in the linguistic analysis of Internet communication, as communication in the Internet community during the pandemic has caused a number of misunderstandings, contradictions and discussions. In addition, a step-by-step analysis of the conflict situation has been carried out, taking into account conflict resolution strategies. The results of different groups of posts were compared with comments to identify a clear position on the language communication situation during the pandemic.
