DIFFERENTLY ISSUED PREPOSITIONS OF CAUSAL SEMANTICS AS THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CAUSAL NATURE OF THE ACADEMIC TEXT

The article states that the academic text, in view of its relevance and significance in the processes of social communication, is the object of active research by both domestic and foreign philologists, however, its lexical system needs further generalizations in view of its dynamism, caused by both extra-, and intralingual factors. The lexical level of an academic text represents a significant number of structurally, semantically, and stylistically diverse units. The authors emphasize that word forms are actively used in the academic text, which according to their lexical-grammatical properties have the characteristics of a word, and the differently designed writing brings them closer to phraseological units. Compound prepositions of causal semantics stand out among them, because space and time are basic concepts of human existence. In the researched material, compound prepositions of causal semantics are distinguished by semantic features, which are used in general to indicate the moment of universal interaction of objects and phenomena of the material world, which consists in the formation or generation of some objects and phenomena – causes, others – consequences. They are mostly two-component prepositional-noun units, but prepositional-noun-prepositional and prepositionaladverbial constructions are also found. Predominantly, the semantics of the former full-meaning word are preserved, which also helps to ensure the accuracy of the academic text. In addition to common semantics, they are also united by syntagmatic and functional-stylistic properties: they require the genitive form from the nominal parts of the language and are mostly qualified as stylistically neutral or bookish. The prepositional units of this semantic group do not show the ability to enter into antonymic relationships with each other and realize polysemy.
