Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of a slang as a means of communication in the modern German-speaking music discourse. The aim of the work is to describe the phraseological composition of the German youth slang, its genetic characteristics and to identify the national and cultural peculiarities of the youth slang in the music discourse. General scientific methods are involved in this work, among which are a descriptive method, observation, systematization, interpretation, classification. In order to identify verbal means of the slang realization and its communicative-pragmatic purpose, a functional method was used. The structural-semantic method was used to determine the content of the slang language units in the music discourse. The quantitative-statistical method made it possible to record the activity of the slang usage in the music discourse. The results of the study allowed us to conclude that music discourse is an artistic phenomenon and a type of speech practice in general, a certain path to a particular meaning; the essence of the communicative model of speech practice in general. In an effort to bring the language of the song closer to the language standard of the mass audience and thus increase the effectiveness of influence, the authors of modern song lyrics on the one hand resort to active use of the slang and foreign language vocabulary. On the other hand, the anthropocentric approach to the language, human orientation, society and culture have determined the growing interest of researchers of the modern linguistics in sociolects and the phenomenon of the slang. Youth slang in music discourse arises for the purpose of self-identification and separation from other social and age groups for self-affirmation or realization of oneself as a person. Replenishment of the youth slang of the German language is carried out by borrowing, word formation and changing the meanings of the word.
