FORMATION OF A MODEL OF ORAL-WRITTEN COMMUNICATION IN OLD FRENCH LITERATURE

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of the model of oral and written communication in old French literature based on the material of prologues to the narrative works of Chrétien de Troyes, the famous poet of the XII century. Despite the significant number of works devoted to the study of various aspects of the old French language and literature, the communicative aspects themselves have not yet found sufficient scientific coverage, which led to the relevance and novelty of this research. Prologues are separated into a special multifunctional structure, which is a reflection of the work (metacommunicative and informative function), introduction to the communicative situation, encouragement and involvement of other communicative actors (phatic and promotional functions), presentation of the author, work and their positioning in the system of cultural forms, values and ideas (presentation, evaluation, intertextual functions). The analysis of this material requires consideration of a number of factors, including the factor of bilingualism, mainly the oral form of the French language, the special status of the spoken/written word, the tendency to formulaic, fixed form of presentation, the transition from anonymous to personal authorship and others. The main semantic centers of prologues to the works of Chrétien to Troyes are epistemic and cognitive, communicative, action-based, temporal, modal aspects. The communicative situation of the prologue includes various communicative instances, which form a complex polyphonic structure, in which the actual situation of the work, its performance is projected into a wider temporal and socio-spatial realm of the written text. Pragmatic and discursive aspects of prologues focused on the presentation of the author and his work are also analyzed. The authorship itself is represented by a complex correlation of the common narrative fund and the actual author’s contribution, which relates to the style, form, and general quality of writing. The linguistic forms of presentation of communicative instances and the main locative components of the organization of the communicative structure of prologues are established.
